At Resilient Minds, your psychiatric provider is trained and guided with ongoing supervision to provide relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, complex psychopharmacology management, holistic medication supplements and other alternative healing modalities. Your provider also acts as point person for your mental, spiritual and some physical wellness needs.
Nowadays it's common for medication management to happen in a silo, meaning the provider sees the patient for at most an initial 50 minute visit followed by medication management appointments for 10-25 minutes. We do not believe this is effective care for most patients. At Resilient Minds your initial visit is 80 minutes followed by 50 minute visits until you are stable on a treatment plan.
Resilient Minds is here to serve all who seek emotional, spiritual, psychic and body healing.
AGES
We are actively accepting adult patients between the ages of 18 and 70 years old who have a working relationship with a primary care provider or functional medicine practitioner.
Rebecca Bonneville is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and accepts some referrals for younger patients. Interviews with caretakers are required to determine if Resilient Minds would be a good fit.
EXPERTISE/POPULATIONS
Our practitioners and staff have particular expertise in treating LGBTQI+ and are sensitive to the needs of this population. Though we do not prescribe hormone therapy for gender transition, we can work with you and your doctor to determine if this the appropriate time for you to transition.
Patients who have "treatment resistant depression" or anxiety or who have not found relief from a number of medication trials are welcome here.
"Testing" for ADHD refers to Neuropsychological testing which is a series of tests performed by a Phd Neuropsychologist. Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs and PAs do not perform this specific type of testing. Such neuropsychological testing is not required to diagnose ADHD but can be helpful for particular patients and especially when educational accommodations are needed. Regardless of any past diagnosis or testing, your Resilient Minds provider will complete an extensive psychiatric evaluation to understand your history and clinical presentation.
Our fees are in line with and often less than functional psychiatry, integrative medicine and psychodynamically trained psychiatric providers in the Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura area. Instead of splitting care between a therapist and medical provider, all services are provided from one practitioner. This is both cost effective and provides incredibly more powerful results. Your provider is able to invest psychically, emotionally and spiritually into your recovery unlike a traditional medication management visit.
Absolutely, please reach out to [email protected] and we can provide such referrals.
I'm mainly interested in traditional medication management. Is Resilient Minds still the right clinic for me and do I have to have to attend such long sessions if I'm just interested in medication only?
If you are mostly interested in medication management with supportive coaching and an integrative health approach to your wellness then Resilient Minds is still a great fit. You will still have an extensive evaluation for 80 minutes followed by 50 minute visits until you are on a stable treatment regimen. If you are stable on medication and just looking to continue that medication with a holistic provider, supportive coaching and lifestyle support we may be able to move you to shorter visits sooner.
1. If you have a PPO insurance, you may request superbills from Resilient Minds to submit to your insurance and request reimbursement. We recommend reaching out to your insurance to ask about your "out of network" benefits and "out of network" deductible. If your deductible is $800, you submit all superbills from Resilient Minds and once you reach $800 in payment your insurance covers a portion of the payments.
2. Often times you are prescribed medication which requires a prior authorization. Generally speaking insurance uses this to make it more difficult to access more expensive medication on your formulary of covered medications. Your pharmacy will send us the prior authorization and we will do our best to get the medication covered.
